MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Coastal’s baseball head coach is checking off another career milestone as the Chanticleers won in Boone over the weekend, marking his 1,100 career win.
Gary Gilmore led CCU to a win over Appalachian State in game two of a doubleheader on Sunday to reach the latest milestone.
Gilmore is currently the 4th winningest active head coach in Division I baseball and is in his 28th and final season with the Chanticleers.
The Chants have their eyes set on a return to Omaha for the first time since 2016 when he won the National Coach of the Year award.
No. 19 ranked CCU will face No. 3 ranked Clemson on Tuesday, Mar. 26 at 6 p.m. on the road.
