SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - After being called to a fire, Surfside Beach firefighters were able to help the store in saving ice cream.

Surfside Beach Fire Department was called to a Saturday fire at Sugar Kingdom Candy Store with Horry County Fire Rescue.

When they arrived at the scene a light smoke haze was present. Crews were able to find a faulty motor for a refrigerant unit.

A ventilation fan was used to clear the store out after the power was disconnected.

When the scene was under control HCFR M31 and Surfside Beach were able to help move the ice cream to freezers to limit any extra loss from the fire.
