FIRST ALERT: Showers and storms at times today
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Unsettled weather returns to the area today with showers and storms at times.
This week will feature more active weather as plenty of moisture and warmth flows into the region bringing several opportunities for showers and storms.
TODAY
High humidity will flow into the area through the day along with showers and storms at times. It will not be an all day rain, but waves of rain and embedded downpours will be possible at times especially from the mid morning through the early to mid afternoon. Rain chances will gradually diminish through the late afternoon and evening, but a few downpours or a thunderstorm will still be possible. Temperatures will climb into the middle 70s.
RAIN CHANCES CONTINUE
Wednesday will see a lingering chance of passing showers and a few storms at times mainly in the afternoon and early evening, but rain chances will drop to 40%. With a bit more sunshine on Wednesday, temperatures will warm to near 80 at the beach and lower 80s inland.
A break in the shower activity arrives on Thursday and most of Friday.
THIS WEEKEND
Another quick-moving system looks to take aim at our area late Friday night and into Saturday. While it’s too early for specifics, it will bring another round of scattered showers and storms Friday and Saturday with lower chances for Sunday. Temperatures will remain quite warm - climbing well into the 80s.
