FIRST ALERT: Summer-like warmth continues today
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Unseasonably warm weather will continue the next few days before rain chances increase by the weekend.
High pressure will remain in control of the weather the next several days with unseasonably warm weather continuing.
TODAY
Sunny skies will remain in place today along with the very warm temperatures. The beaches will see temperatures climb into the lower 80s by early afternoon before the sea breeze knocks temperatures back into the upper 70s by the mid to late afternoon.
Inland areas will once again see summer-like temperatures as afternoon highs reach the upper 80s to near 90.
REST OF THE WEEK
A steady southerly flow will continue to keep temperatures above normal through the work week. An area of clouds will drift across the region on Wednesday to help keep temperatures a few degrees cooler. Grand Strand temperatures will reach the upper 70s while inland areas reach the lower 80s.
A weak system will drift across the area Wednesday night into early Thursday with just a 20% chance of a sprinkle or shower.
Friday will once again see sunny skies and very warm temperatures into the 80s.
THIS WEEKEND
The weather pattern turns a bit more active this weekend. Saturday will see a mix of sun and clouds and warm temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s. A cold front will move into the region Saturday night into Sunday.
Scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm or two will develop Saturday afternoon and evening with rain chances at 30%.
Cooler weather will start to move into the region Saturday night into Sunday with higher rain chances. Showers will be likely at times on Sunday, but the day is not expected to be a washout. Temperatures will drop into the lower 70s for afternoon highs.
