FIRST ALERT: Big warm up ahead this work week
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Sunny skies will remain this week and a big warm-up is on the way as we head into the week.
TONIGHT
Temperatures will be mild tonight with a bit of a breeze. Along the beaches temperatures will sit in the low 60s with clear skies and inland areas will sit in the upper 50s.
TOMORROW
Temperatures tomorrow will start to trend to the warmer side. Thanks to high pressure and a warm air mass temperatures along the beaches will still sit in the low 70s and inland areas temperatures will sit in the low 80s.
Planning on heading outdoors you are not going to want to forget your sunscreen this upcoming week.
HINT OF SUMMER NEXT WEEK
A summer-like weather pattern settles in this week as high pressure sets up shop just offshore. This will produce a steady flow of very warm weather and increasing temperatures throughout the week.
Across the Grand Strand, afternoon temperatures will reach to near 80 each day Monday through Friday.
Inland temperatures will be considerably warm with middle 80s on tap each day.
In addition to the warm temperatures, high pressure will keep any significant storm systems from moving into the Carolinas.
Our forecast remains rain-free through the first half of the week, with just a few more clouds from time to time on Wednesday.
Along with the warm-up this week we will see the first round of humidity. It will not be awful but the muggy meter will stay in the low to pleasant category up until Wednesday into Thursday where we will be in the humid category.
A few stray showers may arrive by Friday into Saturday, but no significant rain is expected anytime soon.
