FIRST ALERT: Cooler temperatures for the ending of the week
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A colder air mass will take over as we finish off the week and move into the weekend.
TONIGHT
As a large-scale low-pressure system that is up to our northeast moves through cooler temperatures will remain for the night and into the weekend. It will continue to stay breezy through the night and into tomorrow. Temperatures will be chilly tonight sitting in the mid to low 40s as we head into tomorrow morning.
TOMORROW
As we head throughout the day tomorrow it will continue to stay on the cooler side. We will start with temperatures sitting in the mid to low 40s and will gradually cool to the low 60s for the beaches and inland will sit in the mid 60s. If you have any outdoor plans, it will definitely be the day to do so as we will see sunshine throughout the day.
THIS WEEKEND
Plenty of sunshine will continue for the weekend, but the cooler temperatures will linger. Mornings will turn chilly, heading into the upper 30s inland of the Waterway on Saturday and Sunday morning. Any frost this weekend should remain isolated. The best chance for some frost would be north of the I-95 corridor this weekend.
Through the weekend we will sit in the low 60s for Saturday which still is on the cooler side however, the sun will be shining so a light jacket will do the trick. Sunday is when temperatures will start to rebound back to the mid to upper 60s for some areas.
Overall, a beautiful sunny weekend on tap for any sort of outdoor activities.
ECLIPSE FORECAST
If you’re staying here in the Carolinas for the partial Eclipse, our forecast looks great for now! Higher level cirrus clouds will stream into the area. Temperatures will climb into the upper 60s for the beaches with the lower 70s inland. We have a full breakdown on everything regarding the Great American Eclipse here.

Keep in mind, we will only see 70% coverage on Monday. Totality remains off to our northwest and a few locations in the path of totality could be dealing with showers and clouds come Monday. Not good for those traveling.
