FIRST ALERT: Stormy start to Wednesday, much colder weekend ahead
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - As the rain clears on Wednesday, our next round of unseasonably cool weather returns.
STORMY WEDNESDAY
Expect a few downpours to arrive by sunrise on Wednesday. The coverage will increase throughout the morning with scattered downpours, and storms are expected through lunchtime.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed our area under a slight threat of severe storms on Wednesday. Widespread severe weather is not expected, but one or two strong storms are possible. The main concern would be strong, damaging wind gusts. These storms will quickly move offshore into the early afternoon, ending our threat of severe weather.

MUCH COLDER WEEKEND
Those gusty winds usher in the cooler weather, arriving by Thursday. Afternoon highs top out in the lower 60s Thursday and hold there through the weekend.

Mornings turn chilly, falling into the lower 40s along the Grand Strand. Areas inland of the Waterway head into the upper 30s with some patchy frost possible on Saturday and Sunday morning.
