Man wanted after fleeing Georgetown County traffic stop
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - Authorities are asking for help to find a man who ran from a traffic stop in part of the Grand Strand.
The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office said 22-year-old Rodriquis Matthews was stopped along with a woman on Murrells Inlet Road and Bellamy Avenue late Tuesday.
Deputies said Matthews ran off on foot from the stop and remains at large as of Wednesday afternoon. He’s described as being around 5′7″ and 125 pounds.
The sheriff’s office said deputies later found over 150 grams of a substance believed to be marijuana and a firearm in the vehicle.
Warrants for Matthews’ arrest include charges for felon in possession of a firearm, driving under suspension, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, open container and hindering law enforcement.
