Retired Walterboro teacher celebrating milestone birthday

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCSC) - A Walterboro woman is celebrating a milestone birthday.
Thelma C. Johnson is 100 years old.
She was born March 4, 1924.
She was born and reared on a farm in Belton in the upstate.
After graduating from Morris College in Sumter, she moved to Walterboro for her first job as a kindergarten teacher.
She lived in a boarding house and that’s where she met the love of her life. They’ve been married for 72 years.
