Conway feels the love with festive decorations for Valentine’s Day

CONWAY, S.C. (WMBF) – Love is in the air in the city of Conway.

The city is embracing the Valentine’s Day spirt with signs and decorations throughout the downtown area.

There are pink hearts that say “Be Mine” and “Kiss Me.” But they’re also celebrating friendships with “Best Friends” signs. And those who may not have a significant other aren’t left out either with a sign that states “Single and Happy.”

Conway Administrator Adam Emrick said the lights and decorations help make Conway unique.

“We’ve been very successful with our Halloween celebrations, Christmas celebrations, so we figured we’d expand into Valentine’s Day,” Emrick said. “Give people a chance to explore the city, get a picture in front of their favorite set up and then maybe join us for a movie, date night, have dinner, have a drink and maybe shop in our stores while they’re here.”

The city will also be hosting movie nights at The Terrace. On Friday, the city will be showing Lady and the Tramp. On Friday, Feb. 9 the movie will be 10 Things I Hate About You. And on Valentine’s Day the city will be showing the movie Valentine’s Day. All showings will start at 6 p.m.

Emrick said the Valentine’s Day lights will stay up in the city through the end of February.
