Man charged in Florence County drive-by shooting
FLORENCE, S.C. (WMBF) - A Pee Dee man is facing charges in connection to a drive-by shooting that happened last month.
The Florence County Sheriff’s Office said 21-year-old Syntarious Daney, of Olanta, is charged with two counts of attempted murder, criminal conspiracy, grand larceny, malicious injury to property and other weapons charges.
Daney’s charges are linked to an April 14 incident on Woods Bay Road in Olanta, where the sheriff’s office said deputies were called to reports of gunfire at a home.
Authorities said Daney is accused of firing multiple rounds at people in cars and homes in the area while riding as a passenger in another car. Investigators also said Daney allegedly “conspired and acted in concert with another to be driven to the location to shoot victims.”
The sheriff’s office said the grand larceny charge stemmed from an April 25 incident where Daney allegedly took a car from a victim using “false and misleading information.”
Online records show Daney is being held at the Florence County Detention Center as of Wednesday afternoon.
