Man arrested after standoff with Darlington County deputies
HARTSVILLE, S.C. (WMBF) - A man was arrested in the Pee Dee after a standoff with deputies on Thursday.
The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office said Joshua Jordan was arrested as a result of the incident. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies and officers with the Hartsville Police Department were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Gardner Street when Jordan allegedly barricaded himself inside a home.
Authorities said Jordan initially would not come out or comply with commands.
The sheriff’s office said Jordan was later arrested after a standoff and communication with negotiations. No one was hurt in the incident.
Jordan is charged with obtaining stolen goods under false pretenses and a count of kidnapping out of Hartsville stemming from the standoff.
As of Thursday afternoon, online records show he’s being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.
