Deputies capture Ohio teen wanted in Pawleys Island chase, crash; 1 still wanted

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – Deputies are searching for one more person connected to a chase and crash in Pawleys Island area.

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a 17-year-old on Thursday who they said left the scene of crash. He was found in Myrtle Beach.

On Monday, a car that was reported stolen in Ohio was spotted by a deputy on Martin Luther King Drive.

The sheriff’s office said there was a chase which ended in a crash between a deputy and a civilian car and a separate one-car crash by the suspects in the stolen car.

The 17-year-old and 19-year-old Payton Baldridge ran into the woods.

Baldridge has active warrants and deputies are searching for him.

The 17-year-old will be extradited to Ohio to face charges.

Two women who were inside of the car were detained at the scene of the crash. It’s not clear at this point if they will be charged in the case.
