Nikki Haley stops in Myrtle Beach days before S.C. GOP Primary
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley made her way to the Grand Strand on Thursday as she looked to rally support ahead of this weekend’s GOP primary in South Carolina.
The former governor started her day in Georgetown as part of her “Best of the Southeast Bus Tour” before coming up to Myrtle Beach. She spoke to those attending a stop at 44 & King on 44th Avenue North.
The former governor then made her case in front of supporters for nearly over a half-hour, highlighting her accomplishments in the state’s highest office. She said that time provided a blueprint for her if she were to be elected to the White House.
“This is the time we have to have a leader who has moral clarity and knows the difference between right and wrong,” she said.
The former governor also spent time addressing her biggest primary challenger, former President Donald Trump.
Trump, who is viewed as the frontrunner in the race, is set to hold a rally in Rock Hill on Friday as he continues to make his way across the state.
Both major candidates have made stops along the Grand Strand in the past month, with each recently holding rallies at Coastal Carolina University.
Thursday also marked the final day to vote early in the primary. Polls won’t open again until Saturday at 7 a.m.
