MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – The Carolina Country Music Fest will honor country music star Toby Keith during the event in June.

The 62-year-old singer-songwriter died peacefully on Monday after his battle with stomach cancer. He announced the cancer diagnosis in 2022.

A spokesperson with CCMF said it will dedicate the “U.S. Of A. Day” to Keith artists and fans.

It’s a day that’s a CCMF tradition where CCMF fans don all their red, white and blue to celebrate America. It’s a fitting tribute to the country singer who crafted many pro-American anthems such as “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue.”

Keith performed at CCMF in 2018.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of such a great man and country music icon. He not only graced our stage but helped CCMF in so many ways to support disabled veterans,” said CCMF spokesperson Chasity Toddy. “He will be missed beyond measure.”

CCMF added that its thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and fans.

The four-day music festival goes from June 6 through June 9.
