Season opener for Coastal Carolina football moved up

CONWAY, S.C. (WMBF) - The 2024 season for Coastal Carolina football will kick off slightly earlier than planned.
The program announced Tuesday that its season-opening matchup at Jacksonville State will now be played on Aug. 29, two days prior than its original date. The team’s home opener is still set for Sept. 7 against William & Mary.
No further details were immediately available.
The Chanticleers are coming off an 8-5 season under first-year head coach Tim Beck, which included a win in the EasyPost Hawai’i Bowl.
