‘Purrrfectly thriving’: Myrtle Beach provides update on kittens rescued from fire station
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach officials say a group of kittens are “purrrfectly thriving” after being rescued from a fire station last week.
The Myrtle Beach Fire Department said the tiny felines were found cuddled up in a hose bed at Station 3 on March 26. They were taken out and moved to the Grand Strand Humane Society to receive care. The mother cat, however, was nowhere to be found.
The city provided an update Wednesday on its Facebook page, saying the kittens are “enjoying lots of bottle feedings and snuggles” from a foster family. The update also came with a video, which can be viewed above.

“The foster mom says her husband was a volunteer firefighter in Pennsylvania before they retired and moved to Myrtle Beach. When she found out how the kittens were found, she knew she wanted to help,” the city said in its post.
The nearly week-and-a-half kittens have also been named Chief (orange), Quint (gray and white), Smokey (gray) and Halligan (dark tabby) - the latter being the only girl.
