Couples renew vows at Brookgreen Gardens for Valentine’s Day
MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WMBF) - Some Grand Strand couples took an opportunity to reaffirm their love for one another on Valentine’s Day.
Brookgreen Gardens held its Romance in the Gardens vow renewal ceremony on Wednesday. The gardens invited couples to renew their vows along with a reception featuring food and live music.
Melvin Gwyn said Wednesday marked the first time he formally proposed to his wife, Norma, after 50 years of marriage.
“I’m going to propose to her today for another 50 years,” he said.
It was also a chance for couples to be reminded of their promises and feelings for each other.
“I’m the luckiest person in the world,” said Nick Howard, who renewed vows with his wife of 41 years, Carol.
“To be mindful of the commitment of marriage and what it means,” added Carol.
Couples also received a bouquet or boutonniere, a personalized certificate and a professional photograph as part of the ceremony.
