Horry County police are working with multiple law enforcement agencies including South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the FBI to make sure things run smoothly.
They’ll be stationed throughout the golf course, especially in busy areas like the fan zone and driving range.
HCPD Capt. Justin Wyatt said police want to make sure you can find help if you need it, and their goal is not to rain on your parade.
“We’re not here to enforce any major rules or harp on anybody,” he said. “We want everybody to have a great time, and enjoy our beautiful beach and the golf course. We are here for safety reasons. If you need us, we are here to protect everybody and keep everybody safe.”
Grand Strand Health is also on hand to take care of your medical needs with first aid tents around the course.
If you have any cuts, bruises, or minor injuries, you can find those tents near holes 3 and 18.
If you are experiencing dehydration, heat exhaustion, or any major injuries, they have a field hospital set up between the 2nd and 17th holes.
Emergency doctor Casey Wilson also said do not forget to pack the essentials.
“It’s really important to have water on hand at all times and keep yourself hydrated, Wilson said. “We definitely advise you to wear plenty of sunscreen. If anybody suffers just any unexpected minor scrapes, burns, bruises, anything, we are here to help from large to small.”
Wilson also said if you forgot your walking shoes, they have mule skin for blisters at the first aid tents.
