Person hurt in Horry County crash involving utility pole

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (WMBF) - One person was hurt after a crash involving a utility pole in Horry County on Thursday.
Horry County Fire Rescue said crews responded to the area of Highway 707 and Elm Road just after 5 p.m. As of around 6 p.m., the agency said the wreck has all lanes of Highway 707 blocked. Drivers are also being asked to avoid the area.

Utility crews were also in the area to repair the damaged pole. Horry Electric Cooperative’s outage map shows an outage of around 350 customers in that area.
The person hurt was taken to a hospital, but no further details were provided on their condition.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
Crews from the Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire District were also at the scene.
