6 hurt in Horry County crash; lanes blocked

Six people were hurt after a crash in the Longs area on Wednesday, officials said.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - Six people are being taken to the hospital after a Wednesday afternoon crash in the Longs area.

Horry County Fire Rescue was called around 12:23 p.m. to the area of East Highway 9 and Charter Drive for the crash.

HCFR added the crash involved three vehicles, one of which hit a sign. Someone from one of the vehicles had to be pulled out, according to the agency.

A WMBF News viewer also sent a photo of the crash, which appears to show a van hit a sign in the area.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.

Horry County police are helping out at the scene.
