1 dead, 1 hurt after Longs area crash, trooper confirms

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - One driver is dead, and another is hurt after a Wednesday night crash in the Longs area.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 9:20 p.m. on Highway 9.
A 2015 Chevrolet sedan going south hit the side of a 2000 Ford pickup truck as the truck was entering Highway 9 from Kayla Circle, according to Master Trooper Brandon Bolt.

The driver of the Ford died, and the driver of the Chevrolet was taken to the hospital.
The name of the victim has not been released.
Horry County Fire Rescue said traffic was impacted Wednesday night as they worked to clear the scene.
