Coroner IDs man killed in Little River crash

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - Authorities have identified a man killed after a crash late Tuesday in Horry County.
Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said 47-year-old Michael Smetanka, of Mishawaka, Indiana, lost control of his SUV at the intersection of Highway 9 and Highway 31 in Little River.

Willard said the vehicle hit a guardrail and overturned. Smetanka died at the scene.
Crews from Horry County Fire Rescue were called to the wreck just before 9 p.m.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
