PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. (WMBF) – Over 100 golfers took time on Monday to help raise money and awareness for Project Golf.

The 2nd Annual Show Some Love golf tournament took place in Pawleys Island at the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club.

A full field of 150 golfers, which were a mix of both locals and visitors, played to benefit Project Golf.

The non-profit group supports underserved youth, newcomers and disabled veterans.

The director of Project Golf, Angel Diaz, said it was great to see so many people come out and support their cause.

“They love the mission that we’re doing with Project Golf so it’s a win-win situation for the participant to get to enjoy this beautiful golf course while giving back to the community through Project Golf,” Diaz said.

Diaz hopes the event will continue to grow as the years go on, but he said they won’t forget the people who have been with them since day one.

“It’s very humbling to see the outpouring of support from the community, and so many familiar faces here, and it’s just a testament to what we’re doing,” Diaz said.

At this point, Project Golf is still determining how much was raised during Monday’s tournament.
